Breakfast Pizza Origins
Robert D'Urbano
From 2004 until 2023, I spent all most all of my free time working in a pizzeria at the Jesey shore. That pizzeria is very popular, feeding thousands of people every day. Its menu was extensive, with more categories than some restaurants have items, though a small few of those managed to hog all the limelight. Whether it be local news outlets, foodie influencers, or just word of mouth, those couple of products were flaunted again and again. And again and again I made them for excited customers, while quietly knowing that the best item on that menu was being left, forgotten or ignored. The breakfast pizza, an item so good it was almost the only thing I ever got from that place, was so full of potential and yet constantly neglected by management. I knew that one day, if I ever opened by own shop, I would give it the attention it deserves.

Fast Forward a couple years after opening Cambridge St,
an employee and I are having a discussion about the pizza industry, when he exclaims that 20 years of pizza making experience is going to waste as I fumble with lattes and muffins. In that moment, I decided I was bringing the breakfast pizza to the shop.

Since then, I've gotten to concoct all kinds of flavorful pies. I'm grateful to the handful of you that I used as guinea pigs over the years, I value your feedback immensely as I continue to come up with new ideas.
The highlight of every month for me is getting to invent a new flavor for the monthly special. I know they aren't always winners (I'm looking at you Thanksgiving stuffing breakfast pizza) but most of the time I am excited to unveil what I've come up with.
If you happen to be reading this while we still have some of our very limited daily selection of slices, order one here!

Recently, we've been looking into ways to bring you whole pizzas, made to order. While our current capabilities only allow for the limited amount of slices we have each day, we hope to be able to change that some time soon. So keep an eye out for those and other changes we have coming.
